CollectA African Elephant Review:

What I like about this well made model is the overall realism. The thick hide is represented well throuogh folds, wrinkles, and flaps. The tusks are shaped nicely and painted to illustrate the color and wear of the real thing. In addition to th overall atractiveness of the figure, it is in motion. Stepping forward with its right foot, an expression of lazy interest. A beautiful figure in my opinion.

African Elephant Information:

African elephants (Loxodonta africana and Loxodonta cyclotis) are the largest land animals on Earth. They inhabit Africa and possess unique characteristics distinguishing them from Asian elephants. These majestic creatures are renowned for their colossal size. Adult males can reach heights of 10-13 feet (3-4 meters) and weigh 10,000-14,000 pounds (4,500-6,300 kilograms). Females are slightly smaller, standing 8-9 feet (2.4-2.7 meters) tall and weighing 5,000-7,000 pounds (2,300-3,200 kilograms). African elephants have large, distinctive ears shaped like the African continent. Their long, muscular trunks are versatile tools used for feeding, drinking, breathing, and communication. Both males and females can have impressive tusks, which are elongated incisor teeth. Tusks are utilized for various tasks, including digging, self-defense, and resource acquisition. These social animals form herds led by experienced matriarchs, comprising related adult females and their offspring. Male elephants typically leave the herd and form bachelor groups or live solitary lives. African elephants inhabit diverse environments such as savannas, forests, and woodlands, requiring ample access to water sources. Their herbivorous diet consists of grasses, leaves, bark, and fruits, necessitating substantial daily food intake and water consumption. African elephants face threats such as habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflicts. Conservation efforts aim to protect their habitats, combat poaching, and promote coexistence.
