Ampelosaurus was a genus of titanosaurian sauropod that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70-66 million years ago, in what is now Europe.

One of the notable features of Ampelosaurus was its armor-like osteoderms, which were bony plates embedded in its skin. These osteoderms provided protection against predators and may have also played a role in regulating body temperature. The CollectA figure incorporates these armored plates into its design, adding to the authenticity of the portrayal.

    Good

This is a really nice model. The skin texture is done really well. In addition to spines, the scales vary in shape and size depending on the location on its body. The paint job is done well and looks natural. In real life, it's a lighter gray than in the picture, and the snout has red highlights. I also like the lighter spots and striping. It stands well on its own and is of a quality good enough for a display.
