Kosmoceratops is a genus of herbivorous ceratopsid dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 76 million years ago. It was discovered in the Kaiparowits Formation of Utah, United States. The name "Kosmoceratops" means "ornate horned face," and it was named for its elaborate skull ornamentation.
This dinosaur was characterized by an intricate arrangement of horns and frills on its skull. It had a total of fifteen horns, making it one of the most adorned ceratopsids known to science. The frill of Kosmoceratops was particularly elaborate, featuring a series of unique projections and ornamentations.
Kosmoceratops belonged to a group of dinosaurs known as ceratopsids, which were characterized by their elaborate skull structures and horned faces. It was a relatively small ceratopsid, estimated to have been around 4.5 meters (15 feet) in length and weighing around 1.2 tons.
