Mojo - Smilodon
The Mojo Smilodon is hand painted and is one of the most vibrant smilodons available.
MoJo Smilodon review:
The Mojo Smilodon is the most colorful of the toy smilodons available. There is a lot of nice paint contrast on this figure. It is the only smilodon figure that does not have a fully open mouth. Its teeth touch the lower jaw. This is a relatively smooth figure (not a lot of hair definition), but the paint job masks that fact and makes the figure look vibrant. Mojo did a nice job on this smilodon figure and it would make a good addition to your collection.

Smilodon Facts:
The name Smilodon is derived from “two edged knife” and “tooth”. The Smilodon “big” teeth were around 11 inches long. The Smilodon lived approximately 2.5 million to 10,000 years ago and ranged throughout North and South America. Depending on the species, the Smilodon ranged from 120 – 950 lbs. The Smilodon primarily hunted large mammals (like buffalo). Their large teeth were fragile however and could not bite into bone without the risk of breaking.
The Smilodon is also known as the “saber tooth tiger” and is one of the most recognizable and well-known prehistoric animals. Ironically, the “Sabertooth” isn’t really related to the tiger, but rather is related to the cat family (Felinae). Thus to call the Smilodon a “Sabertooth Tiger” is to miss-name the Smilodon.
