Napoleon's Horses in History
Napoleon Bonaparte relied heavily on horses throughout his military career, using them for battlefield command, reconnaissance, and ceremonial occasions. He owned numerous horses over his lifetime, but the most famous was Marengo, a gray Arabian stallion captured after the Battle of Aboukir in Egypt in 1799.
