Papo - Mouflon Review:

A great model of this cliff climbing wild sheep. Paint and sculpting are beautiful on this figure. Giving the fur a thick appearance expected of their real-life wool. The Horns are ribbed nicely with detailed rings. Eyes painted brightly help to make an overall lovely model!

Mouflon Information:

Mouflon (Ovis orientalis) are wild sheep native to the mountains of western Asia and the eastern Mediterranean, including countries such as Cyprus, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran. Mouflons are considered to be one of the ancestors of domestic sheep.
Mouflons have distinctive curved horns that are present in both males and females, although the horns of males are typically larger and more curved. They are well adapted to life in mountainous terrain, with strong legs and cloven hooves that provide excellent traction.
Mouflons have a reddish-brown coat with a dark stripe down their back and a light-colored saddle patch on their rump. They are herbivorous and graze on grasses, herbs, and shrubs.
In some parts of the world, mouflon have been introduced as game animals for hunting. Due to overhunting and habitat loss, mouflon populations in the wild are declining, and some subspecies are considered endangered.
