Papo Chilesaurus is a detailed dinosaur figure featuring a unique running stance with one front hand touching the ground, giving this unusual Late Jurassic herbivore a dynamic and lifelike appearance.
The Papo Chilesaurus measures approximately in inches: 5.8" L x 2.2" W x 3.4" H.
Introduced in late 2020, the Papo Chilesaurus remains the only Chilesaurus figure currently available. The realistic paint scheme combines shades of brown and green with darker highlights, while small rows of spines along the shoulders and tail add extra visual interest.
Although the jaw is not articulated, the slightly open mouth gives the figure a natural expression. The low, forward-leaning pose creates the impression of speed and movement, making this hand-painted model an excellent addition to any dinosaur collection.
Chilesaurus lived approximately 145 million years ago during the Late Jurassic Period in what is now Chile. Although classified as a theropod dinosaur, it was primarily a plant-eater and possessed unusual forward-pointing, spatula-shaped teeth that were well suited for feeding on vegetation.
This remarkable dinosaur also had a backward-pointing pubic bone that created room for a larger digestive system, another adaptation for a herbivorous diet. Despite eating plants, Chilesaurus retained powerful forelimbs with a large first claw that may have helped defend it from predators.
