3 + Years
Small Parts. Not for children under 3 years.
The Papo Manatee captures the gentle nature and rounded form of one of the world's most peaceful marine mammals. With its broad paddle-shaped tail, relaxed pose, and realistic gray coloration, this figure accurately portrays the slow-moving "sea cow."
The Papo Manatee measures approximately 5.5" L.
The Papo Manatee features a lifelike sculpt with a rounded body, broad paddle-shaped tail, and carefully detailed flippers that reflect the unique anatomy of these gentle aquatic mammals. Subtle gray shading and realistic skin textures recreate the wrinkled appearance of a real manatee.
The expressive face, complete with small eyes and a broad, whiskered snout, captures the calm demeanor for which manatees are well known. The hand-painted finish enhances the realistic details, making this figure an excellent addition to marine life collections, educational displays, or imaginative play.
Manatees are large herbivorous marine mammals belonging to the order Sirenia. Often called sea cows, they inhabit warm coastal waters, rivers, estuaries, and freshwater systems. Three living species exist today: the West Indian, Amazonian, and African manatees, with the West Indian manatee found throughout the southeastern United States, the Caribbean, and parts of northern South America.
Manatees feed primarily on aquatic vegetation, including seagrasses, algae, and mangrove leaves. An adult may consume up to 10 to 15 percent of its body weight in plants each day. By grazing on underwater vegetation, manatees help maintain healthy aquatic ecosystems and contribute to nutrient cycling in the habitats they occupy.
