The PNSO Keynes the Lythronax showcases the robust proportions expected of an early tyrannosaurid, featuring a large skull, powerful jaws, thick hind legs, and the relatively short forearms characteristic of the group. The figure is posed dynamically in a predatory stance, emphasizing the dinosaur’s hunting power and aggressive posture. Intricate skin textures and carefully layered paintwork create a realistic appearance, while the naturalistic color palette enhances the model’s display presence. Overall, this is an impressive scientific reconstruction that accurately captures one of North America’s earliest large tyrannosaurids.
Lythronax, whose name means "King of Gore," was a tyrannosaurid theropod that lived during the Late Cretaceous period approximately 80 to 79 million years ago. Fossils of Lythronax argestes were discovered in Utah, making it one of the earliest known large tyrannosaurids from North America.
Lythronax measured an estimated 20 to 25 feet in length and was a carnivorous predator equipped with a massive skull and powerful serrated teeth. Paleontologists consider it an important species for understanding the evolution of later tyrannosaurs such as Tyrannosaurus rex.
