The Safari Ltd. Regaliceratops accurately portrays this remarkable ceratopsian's notable characteristics, including its large crown-like frill adorned with plate-like projections, a prominent nose horn, and short brow horns. The mouth features a sharp beak that was well suited for cropping tough prehistoric vegetation.
The figure's textured skin is beautifully detailed and colored with shades of green, brown, and rusty orange. The sculpt captures the powerful build and distinctive head ornamentation that made Regaliceratops one of the most visually impressive horned dinosaurs discovered in North America.
The Safari Ltd. Regaliceratops figure measures approx: 6.7" L x 2.25" W x 2.75" H.
This Safari Ltd. Regaliceratops figure brings one of the most unusual horned dinosaurs to life through detailed sculpting and realistic coloration. The elaborate frill, oversized nasal horn, and sturdy body create an impressive display piece that immediately stands out among ceratopsian figures. Fine skin textures and carefully applied paint help emphasize the animal's rugged appearance while highlighting the dramatic contours of its famous skull.
The figure's pose conveys strength and confidence, making it equally suitable for dinosaur collections, educational displays, and imaginative prehistoric play. Collectors will appreciate the attention given to the skull anatomy, while younger dinosaur enthusiasts can use the figure to learn about the incredible diversity of horned dinosaurs that lived during the Late Cretaceous Period.
Regaliceratops means "Royal Horned Face," a name inspired by its spectacular frill that resembles a crown. This herbivorous dinosaur lived approximately 68 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous Period in what is now Alberta, Canada. It belonged to the ceratopsian family, a group of plant-eating dinosaurs known for their horns, beaks, and elaborate neck frills.
The species is known primarily from a remarkably complete adult skull discovered in Canada. Paleontologists nicknamed the specimen "Hellboy" because of its distinctive horn arrangement and the difficult conditions encountered during excavation. Regaliceratops is particularly important because its skull combines features seen in different ceratopsian groups, helping researchers better understand the evolution of horned dinosaurs shortly before the extinction of the dinosaurs at the end of the Cretaceous.
