The CollectA Gallimimus captures the speed and agility of one of the most recognizable "ostrich dinosaurs" of the Late Cretaceous. The figure features a slender body, long legs, and an alert posture that reflects the lightweight build and athletic appearance of this fast-moving dinosaur.
The CollectA Gallimimus - 1:40 Scale measures: 6.4" L x 4.3" H.
The CollectA 1:40 Scale Gallimimus is an excellent representation of this agile dinosaur. The sculpt emphasizes its streamlined body, elongated limbs, and graceful neck, creating a convincing sense of movement. Fine texturing throughout the figure, including subtle feather-like details along the arms and tail, reflects modern interpretations of ornithomimid dinosaurs.
The natural color palette of earthy browns accented with lighter striping enhances the realistic appearance of the model while allowing the sculpted details to stand out. The combination of accurate proportions, dynamic posture, and careful paint application makes this an appealing addition to any dinosaur collection.
Gallimimus, whose name means "chicken mimic," lived during the Late Cretaceous Period approximately 70 million years ago in what is now Mongolia. It belonged to a group of dinosaurs known as ornithomimids, often called ostrich dinosaurs because of their long legs, lightweight bodies, and birdlike appearance.
Gallimimus was one of the largest members of its group, reaching lengths of over 20 feet. Its long legs suggest it was among the fastest dinosaurs, relying on speed to evade predators. Equipped with a toothless beak and flexible neck, it likely consumed a varied diet that may have included plants, insects, small animals, and other easily gathered food sources.
