The Megamouth Shark (Megachasma pelagios) is a rare deep-sea shark first discovered in 1976. Unlike most sharks, it feeds by filtering plankton and small organisms through its enormous mouth. Despite its large size, it poses no threat to humans and remains one of the least-understood sharks in the world.
