CollectA King Crab #88851 Review:

I love this crab by CollectA! It is a large size sitting in the palm of my hand and looks so life-like! The paint is nicely faded from one tone to another, accenting the lighter colored joints. The carapace has tiny spines protruding and feels like you arte holding a real crab!

King Crab Information:

King crabs are a type of large marine crustaceans belonging to the family Lithodidae. They are known for their size, with some species reaching impressive lengths and weights. The most well-known and commercially harvested king crab species are the red king crab (Paralithodes camtschaticus) and the blue king crab (Paralithodes platypus). They are primarily found in the cold waters of the northern Pacific Ocean, particularly in the Bering Sea and the Gulf of Alaska.
King crabs have a distinct appearance, characterized by their long, spindly legs and large, hard exoskeletons. They are typically reddish-brown or bluish in color, depending on the species. Their legs are covered in sharp spines and are used for walking along the ocean floor and capturing prey.
These crabs are opportunistic predators and scavengers, feeding on a variety of organisms such as mollusks, worms, and fish. They are also known to migrate over long distances in search of food and suitable habitats.
King crabs have become popular in the seafood industry due to their delicious meat, which is often considered a delicacy. Their large size and impressive appearance also make them a sought-after species for display in aquariums.
It's worth noting that although king crabs are sometimes referred to as "Alaskan king crabs," this name can be misleading, as they are not native to Alaska but rather inhabit the broader northern Pacific region.
