Elasmosaurus, the Late Cretaceous, North American plesiosaur (not a dinosaur) that lived about 80.5 million years ago in the great internal seaway that covered much of present-day North America. Measuring 10.3 meters (34 ft) long, the model depicts Elasmosaurus in the act of turning to attack its prey.
Elasmosaurus was one of the largest plesiosaurs, reaching lengths of up to 14 meters (46 feet) long, with most of its length comprised of its neck and body. Its long neck was composed of numerous vertebrae, allowing for flexible movement and agile hunting in the water.
