CollectA Goblin Shark #88989 Review:

CollectA Goblin Shark model has taken realism to an entirely new level, leaving enthusiasts like me awe-struck. With its unparalleled attention to detail, this model is a must-have for anyone fascinated by the wonders of marine life. The grey hide, complete with intricate texturing, perfectly mimics the shark's natural skin. The attention to detail is astonishing; the model's mouth, gills, and fins are nicely sculpted that you can almost feel the tactile sensation just by looking at them. The beady eyes seem to follow you, adding an eerie sense of realism. The true highlight of this masterpiece is the large extended gaping mouth, revealing rows of razor-sharp teeth that send a shiver down your spine.

Goblin Shark Information:

Goblin sharks, scientifically known as Mitsukurina owstoni, are fascinating deep-sea creatures with a distinctive appearance and specialized feeding mechanism. They belong to the Mitsukurinidae family, and they are the only existing species within this family.
Goblin sharks have a peculiar look, characterized by a long, flattened snout and protruding jaws. Their jaws can extend forward to catch prey, revealing rows of sharp, nail-like teeth. These sharks typically have a pinkish-gray or pale gray coloration, which helps them blend into their deep-sea environment.
Found primarily in the depths of the ocean, goblin sharks inhabit depths ranging from 270 to 1,300 meters (900 to 4,300 feet). They can be seen in various regions across the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans.
One of the most interesting aspects of goblin sharks is their feeding behavior. They possess a highly protrusible jaw that can shoot forward to capture prey. Their diet mainly consists of deep-sea organisms like small fish, squid, crustaceans, and even other sharks.
Physiologically, goblin sharks possess specialized electroreceptor organs called ampullae of Lorenzini. These organs allow them to detect the electrical signals emitted by their prey, assisting in locating food in the dark depths of the ocean.
Due to their deep-sea habitat and elusive nature, goblin sharks are rarely encountered, and much of their behavior and life cycle remain a mystery. They are often referred to as "living fossils" because they are considered primitive and have unique characteristics.
