Palaeoloxodon Product Review:

This Palaeoloxodon figure offers a strong and accurate representation of the straight-tusked elephant. The long, extended tusks are a standout feature, giving the model a commanding presence. The sculpt highlights the muscular build and unique head shape, including the pronounced crest that distinguishes this species from other prehistoric elephants.

The overall proportions and detailing make this a solid addition to any prehistoric animal collection. Its size and structure allow it to display well alongside mammoths and other Ice Age megafauna.

Palaeoloxodon Information:

Palaeoloxodon, commonly known as the straight-tusked elephant, was a genus of prehistoric elephant that lived during the Pleistocene epoch. It is named for its long, relatively straight tusks, which could grow to impressive lengths and are among the longest of any known elephant species.

Palaeoloxodon was characterized by very long, relatively straight tusks and a distinctive forehead crest where strong muscles were attached. It is considered one of the most robust elephant species and is closely related to the modern African forest elephant.

These massive animals roamed across Europe and Asia, inhabiting a variety of environments including forests and grasslands. Some species reached heights of over 13 feet at the shoulder, making them among the largest land mammals ever to exist.

Palaeoloxodon became extinct toward the end of the Pleistocene, likely due to a combination of climate change and human activity. Fossil discoveries have provided valuable insights into their biology and the ecosystems they once dominated.

    Paleoloxodon

Wow! What a wonderful figure of the magnificent mammal. I have heard that a Paleoloxodon has been found that is larger than the Paraceratherium, which has been considered the largest land mammal on earth. By the way, I hope Eofauna will make this figure in the near future.. There is lots of detail on this figure especially around the trunk. The tusks are very impressive. Great addition thanks Happy Hen Toys. A++++++++

    Palaeoloxodon

Wow! It just arrived and it’s much more impressive in hand! It’s actually bigger than I thought the would be. I think it may be tied with the Eofauna “Columbian Mammoth” for my favorite extinct elephant model. I was able to put some model grass in his curled trunk to make it look like he’s eating and it looks so realistic!

A beautiful and extremely well-detailed, very realistic figure, in a dynamic, powerful walking pose. Superbly sculpted and painted. A "must have" for your prehistoric elephant collection!
