The included non-toxic glue and numbered pieces make assembly straightforward while encouraging careful attention to detail.
As builders complete the model, they strengthen fine motor skills, sequencing, concentration, and problem-solving abilities through hands-on learning. The puzzle also provides an opportunity to introduce children to the wildlife of North America's mountain ranges and the remarkable adaptations that help bighorn sheep survive in rugged terrain. Made from biodegradable cardboard and printed with eco-friendly inks, it combines creativity, STEM learning, and environmental awareness in a rewarding activity for children and adults alike.
Bighorn sheep are large wild sheep native to the mountains, deserts, and rocky canyons of western North America. They are famous for the enormous curved horns carried by males, called rams, which can weigh more than all the bones in the rest of the animal's body combined. Females, known as ewes, also have horns, but they are much smaller and less curved. Their powerful legs and specialized hooves allow them to climb steep cliffs with remarkable balance and agility.
During the breeding season, rams compete for mates by charging into one another and crashing their horns together with tremendous force. Thick skulls and specialized horn structures help absorb the impact. Bighorn sheep feed mainly on grasses, shrubs, and other vegetation, and their excellent eyesight helps them detect predators such as mountain lions, coyotes, and golden eagles while navigating rocky landscapes.
