The Haolonggood Ouranosaurus Wuwei Dinosaur Figure
measures (inches): 8.3" L x 2" W x 3.6" H.

Ouranosaurus was a herbivorous dinosaur that lived approximately 125 to 112 million years ago during the Early Cretaceous period. It was part of the Iguanodontidae family, known for their adaptability and diverse features. Originating in what is now North Africa, Ouranosaurus thrived in a warm, floodplain environment.

A standout feature of Ouranosaurus is its dorsal sail, formed by elongated neural spines connected by skin or muscle. This sail may have played roles in thermoregulation, communication, or display to attract mates. Ouranosaurus reached lengths of around 23–26 feet and weighed about 4 tons. Its flat, broad beak was well-suited for cropping vegetation, while its strong jaw housed rows of teeth for grinding plants.

The dinosaur also exhibited a combination of bipedal and quadrupedal locomotion. It could walk on two legs for speed or rear up to reach taller vegetation, but likely preferred four legs for grazing. Fossil evidence suggests a social lifestyle, as individuals were found in groups. Ouranosaurus exemplifies evolutionary specialization, making it a compelling subject of study in paleontology.

    Ouranosaurus

The more hadrasaurs figures I receive the more I admire these dinosaurs. It amazes me how many different types there were. Either head crest or in this case the hump or sail on its back. The skin texture and the colors and markings are beautiful. Much has changed from time as a child in the 50s and so many more of these animals from a time long ago have been discovered and will continue to be discovered.
