The Haolonggood Acrocanthosaurus “Zhang Qing” is an impressive theropod figure that captures the power and distinctive anatomy of one of the Early Cretaceous period’s top predators. Sculpted in 1:35 scale, this model features an articulated lower jaw, allowing collectors to display the dinosaur with its mouth open in a dynamic hunting pose. This is the greenish / earth tone model.
Haolonggood has done an excellent job highlighting the defining feature of Acrocanthosaurus—the tall spines along its back that formed a ridge or low sail. The sculpt emphasizes these high neural spines, along with powerful hind legs, muscular arms, and a long, tooth-filled skull that reflects the animal’s role as a dominant carnivore in its ecosystem. Fine texturing across the skin and carefully painted details bring the model to life, making it equally suitable for display, photography, or educational use.
The Dong Ping version represents the brown color variant of the figure, while a second green variant called Zhang Qing uses the same sculpt with a different paint scheme.
Acrocanthosaurus was a large carnivorous dinosaur that lived about 110–100 million years ago during the Early Cretaceous period in what is now North America. Its name means “high-spined lizard,” referring to the tall spines along its back vertebrae that formed a distinctive ridge or low sail running from its neck to its tail.
Reaching lengths of around 35–38 feet and weighing up to 6–7 tons, Acrocanthosaurus was one of the top predators of its environment. It walked on powerful hind legs, had strong arms with three large claws, and possessed a long skull filled with sharp serrated teeth designed for slicing meat. Fossils discovered in states such as Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas suggest it likely hunted large herbivores like sauropods and ornithopods, making it one of the most formidable theropod dinosaurs in Early Cretaceous ecosystems.
