Pachyrhinosaurus is a genus of herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70 to 67 million years ago. These dinosaurs belonged to the family Ceratopsidae, which is known for its horned and frilled dinosaurs. Pachyrhinosaurus is particularly notable for its unique appearance and the bony structures on its head. Like other ceratopsids, Pachyrhinosaurus had a bony frill at the back of its skull. However, unlike some other ceratopsids like Triceratops, the frill of Pachyrhinosaurus lacked the large, prominent frill spikes.
Pachyrhinosaurus had a distinctive, thickened, and flattened nose horn that protruded from the front of its skull. This nasal horn gave the dinosaur its name, which means "thick-nosed lizard."
