Mandschurosaurus was a large duck-billed dinosaur, or hadrosaur, that lived during the Late Cretaceous in what is now northeastern China. It was among the first dinosaurs scientifically described from Asia, making it historically important in the study of Asian dinosaur fossils.
Like other hadrosaurs, Mandschurosaurus was a herbivore equipped with a broad beak for cropping vegetation and large dental batteries containing hundreds of tightly packed teeth that continually replaced worn ones. These specialized jaws allowed it to efficiently grind tough plant material, making hadrosaurs among the most successful plant-eating dinosaurs of the Late Cretaceous.
