This Mojo Woolly Mammoth features a forward-facing stance that gives the figure a strong, grounded appearance. The woolly mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) was a close relative of today's Asian elephant and inhabited the cold grasslands of Europe, Asia, and North America during the Ice Age. Thick fur, a dense undercoat, layers of insulating fat, and relatively small ears helped mammoths survive in freezing environments.
Adult woolly mammoths used their long, curved tusks to sweep away snow in search of grasses and other vegetation, defend themselves, and interact with other members of their herds. Most populations disappeared around 10,000 years ago as the Ice Age ended, although isolated populations survived on Arctic islands until about 4,000 years ago.
