Mountain Gorilla Information:

The mountain gorilla is found in the volcanic mountains of central and east Africa. They are one of the most critically endangered species in the world, with only around 1,000 individuals remaining in the wild.

These magnificent animals are the largest primates on earth, with males weighing up to 440 pounds and standing over five feet tall when they are fully grown. They have a thick, black fur that helps them survive in the cool mountain forests, and their broad chests and muscular arms enable them to climb and move through the trees with ease.

Despite their size and strength, mountain gorillas are gentle animals and are known for their peaceful nature. They are, however, threatened by habitat loss, poaching, and disease, and efforts to protect them are ongoing.
