A "tinker horse" is a term used in Ireland to refer to a breed of horse that was historically associated with the traveling people known as "Tinkers". These horses were often used for transportation, and for pulling carts or caravans. They were known for their toughness and hardiness, as well as their ability to work long hours without rest.
The exact origins of the tinker horse are unclear, but it is believed that the breed may have been created from a mix of native Irish horses and horses from continental Europe. Over time, the tinker horse became a symbol of the traveling community and its unique way of life. Today, the breed is relatively rare, but there are still some tinker horses in Ireland and other parts of Europe.
