Schleich Wild Life - Peacock #14926
3+ years
Small Parts. Not for children under 3 years.
Hand-painted Schleich Peacock with detailed blue and green plumage and flowing tail feathers for realistic wildlife displays.
The Schleich Peacock measures: 4.4" L x 3.2" W x 1.6" H
The Schleich Peacock captures the bird’s unmistakable courtship display with a fully fanned tail and vivid blue body. The sculpting highlights the layered eye-spot pattern across the tail feathers, along with the slender neck and upright crest. The paintwork blends deep blues, greens, and gold accents to reflect the iridescent look peacocks are known for in natural light. It stands steadily and pairs well with other farm and wildlife animals in the Schleich range.
As with other Schleich releases, the figure is solidly constructed and hand-painted, with attention given to feather texture and color transitions rather than exaggerated styling. The pose adds visual impact to a shelf display while remaining realistic enough for educational use. It works equally well as a standalone piece or as part of a broader barnyard or garden-themed collection.
Peacocks are the male birds of the species Pavo cristatus, commonly known as the Indian peafowl. Native to the Indian subcontinent, they have been introduced to many parts of the world as ornamental birds. The male is known for its iridescent blue neck and its long upper tail coverts, which form the dramatic “train.” These elongated feathers display eye-shaped markings and can be raised into a fan during courtship. The actual tail feathers are shorter and support the train from beneath.
Peacocks use their display to attract females, called peahens, by vibrating the feathers to create a rustling sound and visual shimmer. Indian peafowl are omnivores, feeding on seeds, insects, small reptiles, and plant matter. They typically roost in trees at night for protection from predators. In their native habitat, they occupy forests, farmland, and open woodland areas and are well adapted to living near human settlements.
