PNSO has brought us an OVERSIZED African Elephant figure. There aren't many large figures that capture so much of the living detail of the living animal.
PNSO Mamman the African Elephant measures:
13" H x 7.5" W(at the ears) x 7.5" H.
At the top of my praise is the beautiful body sculpt of this model, especially the highly detailed head. The foundation of this model is the amazing attention paid to the every bump and wrinkle of the hide. In particular the trunk and ears levitate this model.
Where it fall short is the paint application. In some places the paint appears hastily applied. For example, in the product reviewed, the toenails appeared lazily painted (but the eyes were well painted)
A large figure, that is hollow and surprisingly light weight may seem low quality to some. This doesn't retract from the figure in this case, because overall, it is an attractive reproduction of an awe inspiring animal.
African elephants are the largest land animals in the world and are native to Africa. There are two species of African elephants: the savanna elephant and the forest elephant.
Savanna elephants are the larger of the two species, with males standing up to 13 feet (4 meters) tall at the shoulder and weighing up to 14,000 pounds (6,350 kilograms). Forest elephants are smaller, with males standing up to 10 feet (3 meters) tall and weighing up to 6,600 pounds (3,000 kilograms).
