PNSO’s Stella the Stellasaurus is a beautifully crafted model that brings this lesser-known horned dinosaur to vivid life. Stella features a finely textured hide, brilliant coloration with earthy browns and subtle striping, and a uniquely shaped frill that sets this ceratopsian apart from its relatives. The paint application is clean and professional, with expertly blended shading and lifelike eyes that give the figure real personality.
The horns and frill are faithfully sculpted to match current paleontological interpretations of the Stellasaurus, showing off its transitional features between earlier and later centrosaurines. As with all PNSO models, Stella balances scientific accuracy with a visually engaging sculpt, making it ideal for both educational use and collector display. Packaged with a name card and featuring a dynamic pose, Stella is another standout in the PNSO prehistoric line.
Stellasaurus, meaning “star lizard,” is a genus of horned dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous, discovered in Montana and formally described in 2020. It is believed to be a transitional species between other centrosaurines such as Styracosaurus and Einiosaurus. Stellasaurus is notable for its unique combination of facial horns and frill ornamentation, offering crucial insights into ceratopsian evolution. Its name reflects the star-like shape of its cranial features, and "Stella" honors this as well as its striking appearance. Though only known from partial skull remains, its discovery helped refine our understanding of dinosaur diversity in the Two Medicine Formation.
