This Safari Ltd. Woolly Rhinoceros features a thick fur coat, pronounced shoulder hump, and two prominent horns, with the larger horn positioned on the tip of the nose. The lowered head and walking stance give the figure the appearance of being ready to charge.
The rough texture realistically represents the dense coat that protected this Ice Age giant from extreme cold. Its lifelike sculpt and natural coloration make it an excellent addition to prehistoric mammal collections and educational displays.
The Woolly Rhinoceros lived across the cold steppes of Europe and northern Asia during the Ice Age. Thick fur, a large fat hump over its shoulders, and massive horns helped it survive in harsh glacial environments. It was a grazing herbivore that fed primarily on grasses and sedges using its wide, flat mouth.
Fossil discoveries and prehistoric cave paintings in France and Spain show that early humans lived alongside Woolly Rhinoceroses and likely hunted them. The species became extinct near the end of the last Ice Age as climate and habitats changed.

Woolly rhino figures are rare. Like their Mastodon, Safari got this one right, and I’m so glad. I haven’t seen a better Willy rhino, especially at this price.
