Safari Ltd. Sloth #100117 Review:

Its hunched-over pose is somewhat unique. The sloth's grey head contrasts nicely with its brown body, and the texture on its back has a nice hair-like appearance.

However, the texture on the sloth's arms and legs feels overly smooth and doesn't quite match the texture of its back. The face details are also somewhat average, lacking some of the finer features that would make the figurine more realistic.

Additionally, the sloth's legs have an unusual two-toe design, while the arm only has one claw, which further detracts from the figure.

This model is an example of a Hoffman's two-toed Sloth.

Sloth Information:

Sloths are fascinating mammals that inhabit the lush rainforests of Central and South America. These unique creatures are renowned for their slow movements, relaxed lifestyle, and distinctive appearance, which includes shaggy fur and long, curved claws. Sloths are herbivores, feeding primarily on leaves, buds, and fruits.

There are two main types of sloths: two-toed and three-toed. The two-toed sloth is larger and more active than the three-toed sloth, capable of moving slightly faster. Nonetheless, both species are known for their lethargic pace, a result of their low metabolic rate and their tendency to conserve energy by sleeping for up to 15 hours per day.

Sloths spend the vast majority of their lives in the trees of tropical rainforests. Their curved claws enable them to grip branches firmly, while their unique anatomy enables them to hang upside down from branches for extended periods. Interestingly, sloths' fur grows from their belly towards their back, allowing rainwater to drain away effectively since they spend most of their time hanging upside down.

Interestingly enough, the two-toed sloth actually has three toes on its feet! A more accurate name for this creature would be the two-fingered sloth, because they have two fingers on their front two limbs, which are more akin to arms with hands rather than legs with feet.
