Step back in time with Safari Ltd. Saltasaurus, a detailed hand-painted model of one of the most unusual armored sauropods of the Late Cretaceous.
Safari Ltd. Saltasaurus measures: 12.6" L x 3.2" W x 4.1" H.
The Safari Ltd. Saltasaurus is an excellent representation of this unique armored sauropod. The sculpt accurately captures the dinosaur’s long neck, whip-like tail, columnar legs, and most notably the bony osteoderms embedded across its back.
The textured skin and realistic paint application enhance the figure’s prehistoric appearance, while the purple striping and reddish-gray coloration give it strong shelf presence. Overall, this is a standout sauropod figure and one of the better Saltasaurus models currently available.
Saltasaurus was a small sauropod dinosaur that lived in South America during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70 to 66 million years ago. It is best known for being one of the first sauropods discovered with bony armor plates called osteoderms embedded in its skin.
Though smaller than many other sauropods, Saltasaurus still reached lengths of roughly 30 feet and likely fed on low-growing vegetation. Its unusual armor may have helped protect it from predators in its environment.
