Kentrosaurus, meaning "pointed lizard," was a genus of herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period, approximately 155 to 150 million years ago, in what is now Tanzania, Africa

A medium sized stegosaur with a double row of blade like plates running down its back and with a tail topped by paired spikes for its entire length.

In addition to its defensive adaptations, Kentrosaurus had a relatively small body compared to other stegosaurs, with a long, slender tail and sturdy legs.
