We had a pet hedgehog for eight years, and adored it. While I wouldn't recommend one (they are solitary animals who really don't enjoy people, or even any other hedgehog, which I didn't know until halfway into the process of being a hedgehog mom) I do miss him horribly, so when I found this little puzzle, I just had to get it. I recommend flipping the pieces over and using a light brown Sharpie on the white bits and edges, so the spikes look more natural when viewed from different angles. I also removed the strawberry, as I just wanted the hedgehog. The little black eyes look so much like our little guy, whom we named Piglet. I just love this, and have it in the same place his house was located when he was alive, so I can walk past it and pretend he's still here. The real one saved our lives one cold winter night, We had a battery leak that caused noxious fumes, and Piglet picked up his plastic "Little Tikes" playhouse, where he liked to sleep inside his larger cage, and dragged it across the bars of the cage, making an intense racket until we investigated. I could smell it, and I grabbed him, woke my husband and kids, called the fire department and we waited in the van until they'd cleared the house. Great little friend. Get yourself one! (Just not a real one...)
