Stegosaurus lived during the Late Jurassic Period and is one of the world's most recognizable dinosaurs. It is famous for the double row of large plates running along its back and the spiked tail, known as a thagomizer, which was likely used for defense against predators.
Stegosaurus was a herbivore that fed on low-growing vegetation. Although it had a relatively small brain for its body size, it was a successful dinosaur that lived across western North America approximately 155 to 150 million years ago.
