Manta Ray Information:

Manta rays are large, majestic creatures that inhabit the world's oceans. They are part of the genus Manta, which includes two species: the giant manta ray and the reef manta ray. These gentle giants are known for their impressive size, with wingspans that can reach up to 23 feet (7 meters) across. Despite their size, manta rays are harmless to humans, as they feed mostly on plankton and small fish.

Manta rays are found in tropical and subtropical waters around the world, and are often seen near coral reefs. They are highly migratory, with some individuals traveling thousands of miles each year. Manta rays are also known for their acrobatic abilities, often leaping out of the water and performing aerial maneuvers.

Unfortunately, manta rays are under threat from human activities such as overfishing, pollution, and climate change. They are also targeted for their gill plates, which are used in traditional Chinese medicine despite having no proven medicinal value.
