Concavenator was a medium-sized theropod dinosaur that lived approximately 130 million years ago during the Early Cretaceous Period in what is now Spain. It belonged to the Carcharodontosauridae family of predatory dinosaurs and is best known for the unusual hump or sail-like structure on its back.
Scientists are still uncertain about the exact purpose of this hump, though theories include display, thermoregulation, or energy storage. Fossil evidence also suggests that Concavenator may have possessed structures related to primitive feathers, providing valuable insight into the evolution of theropod dinosaurs.
