Discover Bakari the Lurdusaurus by PNSO, a scientifically inspired dinosaur figure that captures the unusual anatomy of this massive Early Cretaceous herbivore.
PNSO Bakari the Lurdusaurus #94 measures: 9" L x 3.1" H.
Bakari the Lurdusaurus is a highly detailed PNSO figure that recreates one of the most unusual iguanodont dinosaurs discovered in Africa. The sculpt emphasizes the dinosaur's broad, low-slung body, muscular forelimbs, and heavy build, giving the model a distinctive silhouette that immediately separates it from more familiar ornithopods. Fine skin texturing and carefully layered musculature add realism across the torso, limbs, and tail.
The natural earth-tone coloration complements the realistic sculpt without overwhelming the anatomical detail. PNSO's attention to proportion and posture helps convey the massive, weight-bearing structure scientists associate with Lurdusaurus. The figure has strong shelf presence and works particularly well for collectors interested in uncommon herbivorous dinosaurs rather than mainstream species.
Lurdusaurus was a large herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Early Cretaceous period approximately 115 million years ago in what is now Niger, Africa. It belonged to the iguanodont group of ornithopod dinosaurs but differed significantly from many relatives because of its unusually broad body, relatively short hind limbs, and long, powerful forelimbs. Paleontologists believe these proportions gave it a slow-moving, heavily built appearance somewhat unlike the more lightly constructed iguanodonts.
Fossil evidence suggests Lurdusaurus likely inhabited wet lowland environments such as river systems, floodplains, and marshy regions rich in vegetation. Its body structure may have been adapted for feeding in soft, waterlogged terrain where stability was important. Although not as widely known as dinosaurs like Iguanodon or Parasaurolophus, Lurdusaurus remains one of the most distinctive herbivorous dinosaurs discovered from Early Cretaceous Africa.
