Schleich Elk Toy Figurine: realistic hand-painted elk figure with detailed antlers and natural pose for imaginative play and wildlife learning.
The Schleich Elk measures: 4.1″ L x 2.6″ W x 4.1″ H
The Schleich Elk captures the scale and presence of this North American species with impressive attention to detail. The sculpt highlights the elk’s muscular build, thick neck, and sweeping antlers, with individually defined tines that reflect a mature bull in prime condition. Subtle paintwork across the coat transitions from deep brown along the body to lighter tones around the rump and legs, creating a realistic seasonal appearance.
As part of the Schleich Wild Life collection, this elk is designed for durability while maintaining lifelike accuracy. It stands solidly for display yet fits naturally into woodland or forest-themed play scenes. The expression and stance convey alertness without exaggeration, making it suitable for both imaginative storytelling and educational use when learning about North American wildlife.
Elk (Cervus canadensis), also known as wapiti, are one of the largest members of the deer family. Native to North America and parts of eastern Asia, they inhabit forests, meadows, and mountainous regions. Adult bulls can weigh over 700 pounds and are known for their large, branching antlers, which they grow and shed annually. Elk are herbivores, feeding on grasses, leaves, bark, and shrubs. Their tan bodies and lighter rump patches provide camouflage in open woodland and grassland habitats.
Elk are highly social animals and typically live in herds, especially outside the breeding season. During the fall rut, bulls compete for harems of cows and produce a distinctive high-pitched bugle that can carry for miles. Calves are born in late spring and are spotted for camouflage during their early weeks. Once widespread across much of North America, elk populations declined in the 19th century but have since rebounded in many areas through conservation and wildlife management efforts.
