Alligator Overview:

There are 3 very good alligator figures and 3 average alligator figures. There is only 1 white alligator by Safari Ltd. so that is your only option in white. While the Papo Alligator is generally more expensive, all the other five alligator figures are relatively close in price. Your Alligator selection will primarily be based on which Alligator looks the best to you. We present the 3 best Alligators first.

Best Value / Largest Alligator: Mojo Alligator #387168

Mojo Alligator #387168Of the 3 “best” alligators, this is the least expensive – thus earning the “best value” option. It also happens to be the largest alligator model of the six available.

Key Features:
+ Size: 8 inches length x 1.4 inches tall. Is the longest and stands higher than most of the others.

+ Moveable Jaw: All three of the “top” Alligator figures do have moveable jaws. This lower jaw opens and closes. Teeth and mouth are well done.

+ Color / Details: This is the brownest of the alligators – Skin texture and overall shape is well done.

Drawbacks:
+ None Noted.

Mojo Alligator Review:
The Mojo Alligator is generally the least expensive of the 3 top alligator models. It is also the largest of the 3. As the only brown alligator figure, it really stands out. Jaw open and closes easily. Teeth are individually formed and are fairly uniform (some of the other models have more disjointed teeth). Back sculpt is well done – belly sculpt is not as well defined as some, but generally you are looking at the back a head. A good model from Mojo.< p>

Very Good Alligator Figure: Papo Alligator (#50254)

Mojo Alligator #387168This is a very good figure. This figure has a moveable jaw – what is unique about this jaw is that the TOP jaw opens and closes – usually it is the lower jaw that opens and closes. This is the most expensive of the alligator toys available.

Key Features:
+ Size - Measures 7.2 L x 1.1 H inches.

+ Moveable Jaw: Unique in that that top jaw (not lower) opens and closes.

+ Great Details - As you would expect to find in a figure at this price point, the details are very well done. Back looks slightly better than the others – but really based on preference.

Drawbacks:
+ Cost – This is the most expensive of the alligator models.

Papo Alligator Review:
The Papo Alligator is a great figure. This is the smallest of the 3 “best” figures. While the dimensions of this figure are close to the other 2 figures, it is noticeably smaller than the Mojo figures. Especially the head looks smaller than the other 2 heads.

Very Good Alligator Figure: Schleich Alligator #14727

Schleich Alligator #14727This is the third of the top 3 models. This is no better / no worse than the other 2 “top” figures. It simply is different.

Key Features:
+ Size: 7.5 inches x 1.5 inches high. This is the middle sized of the top 3 alligators.

+ Details: High definition skin bumps on the back. Has the best defined belly details of all six figures.

+ Moveable Jaw: Jaw opens and closes. This is the widest opening of the 3 opening mouths.

Drawbacks:

+ None Noted.

Schleich Alligator #14727 Review:
This Schleich alligator model is a very good model. Some of the details in the head get a little lost / blend together. This is the widest opening of the 3 mouths. It is larger than the Papo Alligator, but smaller than the MoJo Alligator. Depending on the style you prefer, you will be happy with this model.

Least Expensive Model: CollectA American Alligator #88609

CollectA American Alligator #88609The Collecta toy Alligator is the least expensive of the alligator toys available. It has a fixed jaw and is the smallest of the alligator models available.

Key Features:
+ Size: Measures 7 L x 1 H inches and thus is the smallest Alligator available.

+ Low Cost: The CollectA Alligator is the lowest cost of the alligator models available.

+ American: This is the only alligator specifically identified as an "American" Alligator

Drawbacks:
+ Mouth: Fixed Jaw doesn’t move.

+ Teeth: Teeth are very small

CollectA Alligator Review:
The CollectA alligator is a solid figure. If you are looking for a smaller figure, this is the smallest figure currently available. Tail is the most flexible of the tails (but always returns to the same position. Overall, this is a good model.

Same Figures – Different Colors: Safari Ltd. Alligator – Green - #276-429:

Same Figures – Different Colors: Safari Ltd. Alligator – White - #291-929:

Safari Ltd. Alligator - #276429Safari Ltd. Alligator – White - #291-929The two Alligators from Safari Ltd. are of the same mold / sculpt. The only difference is the paint job. One figure is white, one figure is green. This is the only white alligator option currently available.

Key Features:

+ Size: Measures 6 L x 2 H inches. The length of these figures is negatively offset by the big curl in the tail.

+ Colors: Same alligator available in 2 colors – white and green.

Drawbacks:
+ Stability: Not all four feet on are the ground. The white version actually rests on its belly – not on its feet.
+ Head: Head sculpt is more basic than some of the other models.

Safafri Ltd. Alligator Reviews:
These are not bad figures – they simply are not quite the quality of the other figures. The details on back and head are fine. In fact we like the eyes on both figures. Teeth are not quite to the level of quality as the other figures.
