Mojo Green Woodpecker captures the vivid colors and alert posture of this distinctive woodland bird in a lifelike pose perfect for nature-themed collections:
The Mojo Green Woodpecker measures: 3" L x 1.2" W x 2" H
The Mojo Green Woodpecker figure presents a realistic interpretation of one of Europe's most recognizable woodland birds. The model shows the bird perched upright with its long pointed bill extended forward and its body positioned as if preparing to climb or inspect a tree trunk. The bright green plumage, red crown, and dark facial markings are carefully painted, capturing the distinctive appearance that makes this species easy to identify in the wild.
Fine feather texture and balanced proportions help give the figure a natural appearance suitable for both display and educational use. The sculpt successfully reflects the green woodpecker's alert character and slightly elongated body shape. Its compact size allows it to fit naturally into woodland scenes, bird collections, or European wildlife displays alongside other forest species.
Green woodpeckers (Picus viridis) are widespread across much of Europe and parts of western Asia. They are known for their bright green body coloration, pale face, dark eye stripe, and vivid red crown. Unlike many woodpecker species that spend most of their time hammering into tree bark, green woodpeckers commonly forage on the ground where they feed heavily on ants and other insects.
These birds use a remarkably long sticky tongue to reach deep into ant nests and capture prey. They typically inhabit open woodland, orchards, parks, and farmland with scattered mature trees suitable for nesting. Green woodpeckers excavate nest cavities in softened wood and are often heard before they are seen due to their loud laughing call, sometimes referred to as a "yaffle." Their combination of bright coloration and unusual feeding behavior makes them one of Europe's most distinctive woodpecker species.
