Safari Ltd. Edmontosaurus #100358 Review:

One of the standout features of this Edmontosaurus figurine is its vibrant red crest that stands out and adds a pop of color to the overall design. The duck bill lip overlapping the lower lip and the front feet of the figurine are covered with a sheath, hiding the underlying hoof that would be present.

The color blending of tans and browns on the body is well done, giving the figurine a natural and authentic appearance. The sculpting work is impressive, resulting in a visually appealing and lifelike representation of the Edmontosaurus.

One minor critique is that the tail of the figurine could be more upright as fossil records indicate the tail was held upwards.

Edmontosaurus Information:

Edmontosaurus, meaning "lizard from Edmonton," is a genus of herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 73 to 65 million years ago. It belonged to the hadrosaurid family, commonly known as duck-billed dinosaurs, and was one of the largest members of this group.

Edmontosaurus was characterized by its long and flat snout, which was adorned with hundreds of tightly packed teeth used for grinding vegetation. It possessed a bulky body, measuring up to 12 meters in length and weighing several tons. This dinosaur walked on four legs, but it could also adopt a bipedal posture when necessary.

Fossil discoveries have provided valuable insights into the behavior and lifestyle of Edmontosaurus. It likely lived in large herds, where individuals would have enjoyed safety in numbers. These dinosaurs inhabited coastal environments and were capable swimmers. They possessed a fleshy comb-like crest on their heads, possibly used for communication or display purposes.
