Look out! The Limited-Edition Midnight Giganotosaurus is lurking in the night. A fiery red streak and jaws that open and close strike fear into all who venture too close. Available for a limited time.

Midnight Gianotosaurus Measures: 8.3" L x 4.3" W x 6.7" H

Watch out! You can see from afar that the huge Limited-Edition Midnight Giganotosaurus is not in a joking mood. Its enormous head seems to consist only of teeth. And it is only too happy to bare its dangerous, pointed fangs. It opens its mighty jaws and roars so loudly that even the trees are shaking. It's probably looking for prey to flush out. Once it has startled the other animals, it chases them through the jungle on its powerful hind feet at a speed of up to 50 km/h. It won't rest until it has caught something. High time to get out of here!

Giganotosaurus Information:

Giganotosaurus was a massive theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 98 to 97 million years ago. Here are some key facts about Giganotosaurus:

  1. Size: Giganotosaurus was one of the largest known carnivorous dinosaurs, though slightly smaller than its close relative, the Carcharodontosaurus. Estimates suggest it could reach lengths of up to 12.2-13 meters (40-43 feet) and weigh around 6.8-13.6 metric tons (7.5-15 short tons).

  2. Discovery: The first fossils of Giganotosaurus were discovered in Argentina in 1993 by Rubén D. Carolini, a farmer and amateur paleontologist, and his assistant Leonardo Salgado. This discovery significantly expanded scientific understanding of large theropod dinosaurs outside of North America.

  3. Classification: Giganotosaurus belongs to the family Carcharodontosauridae, a group of carnivorous dinosaurs characterized by their large size, sharp teeth, and long, narrow skulls. Other members of this family include Carcharodontosaurus and Mapusaurus.

  4. Anatomy: Like other theropods, Giganotosaurus had a bipedal stance, meaning it walked on two legs. It had long, slender legs and sharp, serrated teeth, which it likely used to hunt large herbivorous dinosaurs like sauropods. Its skull was elongated and narrow, resembling that of its close relative, Carcharodontosaurus.

  5. Diet: Giganotosaurus was a carnivore, preying on other dinosaurs. Its size and anatomy suggest that it likely hunted large herbivorous dinosaurs, such as titanosaurs, which were abundant in the Late Cretaceous ecosystems of South America.

  6. Behavior: While much of Giganotosaurus's behavior remains speculative, scientists believe it was an apex predator, likely hunting in packs or small groups to take down larger prey. Its sharp teeth and robust skull suggest it was well-adapted for delivering powerful bites to incapacitate its prey.

  7. Paleoenvironment: Fossils of Giganotosaurus have been found in Argentina, indicating that it inhabited the southern regions of the supercontinent Gondwana during the Late Cretaceous period. The environment at that time would have been dominated by lush forests and expansive floodplains, providing ample prey for large predators like Giganotosaurus.

This is a really cool-looking dinosaur. I love the color scheme and the way you can open its mouth.
